Social Development reiterates determination to bettering SASSA grants

Social Development Department Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her assistance and dedication to improving upon South African Social Security Company (SASSA) solutions throughout an engagement along with the agency's senior managers in a strategic scheduling session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled within the 2024 matric final exams.
On the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for your National Senior Certificate (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, representing 81% in the registered pupils within the training sector.
These learners achieved a commendable pass rate of 86%.
"This means the expenditure national government is producing in the life of bad and susceptible youngsters is yielding a favourable affect in breaking intergenerational poverty," Tolashe said.
Reflecting on latest achievements, the Minister highlighted key milestones and ongoing priorities. She devoted to urgently addressing the issue of lasting leadership appointments as well as the lack of personnel at most community offices.
